About The Club

Our purpose is to protect our community in the water – an institution for promoting, enabling and delivering fun, safe coastal recreation.

Whangamata Surf Life Saving Club (WSLSC) was officially formed on 1 December 1949; at that time we had only six volunteer lifeguards to patrol the beach.

We have come a long way since our inception and now boast a strong membership base and have some of the best club facilities within Surf Life Saving in New Zealand.

WhangaFam is all about who we are, how we behave and what we strive for. Developed for members by members – why don’t you join us?
