Welcome to the Whangamatā Surf Life Saving Club Rookie Lifeguard programme!
Rookie Lifeguards form a key part of our club and we’re dedicated to offering a fun, educational, action-packed experience for these members ensuring they develop the skills and experience required to keep themselves and others safe at the beach.
The programme looks to develop community connections, new friendships and a range of surf skills – keeping classroom learning to a minimum through short tutorials and practical-based learning ensures participants remain engaged in sessions and benefit from the many fun activities on offer in Whangamatā in a safe and supportive environment.
To participate in the Rookie Lifeguard programme members must be;
