IRB RACING
IRB RACING OVERVIEW
Our IRB programme is an important part of both our sporting and lifeguarding pathways. The skills developed through IRB racing go well beyond competition. They build technically skilled drivers and crews who can communicate, think critically, make sound decisions under pressure and work effectively as a team when rescuing patients from an IRB.
Last season, our IRB team made huge strides. The programme built strong relationships within the team while developing the technical skills, critical thinking and decision-making required in real rescue situations. We were incredibly proud of the level of competition the team took on and the progress they made throughout the season.
We are excited to continue building the programme, developing our athletes and watching them challenge some of the strongest teams in the country. The competitive environment provides another valuable pathway to developing highly skilled, confident and rescue-ready lifeguards.
