Welcome to Junior Surf & Lifesaving Development

We’re excited to welcome our young members back to Whangamatā Surf Lifesaving Club for another season!

Our Junior Surf and Lifesaving Development programmes are all about building confidence, skills and a love of the ocean in a fun, supportive and safe environment.

Whether your child is just starting out in Junior Surf, keen to develop their ocean and surf skills, or beginning to explore the pathway towards becoming a lifeguard, there is a place for them at Whangamatā SLSC.

If you are Under 18 years of age, you will need a parent or guardian to register you.

Membership & Programme Fees

Early Bird: Renew and pay before 1st November 2026 to receive a 16% discount on your membership fees.

Additional programme or activity fees may apply depending on which programmes your child takes part in.

Returning Members

If your child was a member last season:

  • Click Current or Past Member of Whangamatā SLSC
  • Log in using your email address
  • If you have forgotten your password, click Forgot Password
  • Check and update your personal details
  • Select the appropriate membership/programme
  • Select the appropriate programmes
  • Add merchandise (optional)
  • Accept the Terms & Conditions
  • Choose your payment option
  • Payment Options
    • Credit Card – Membership is confirmed immediately.
    • Other – An invoice will be emailed to you.

New Members

Joining is easy!

  • Select the appropriate membership group
  • Complete your child’s details and emergency contact information
  • Add merchandise (optional)

Programme registrations and additional programme information will be shared with members as they become available.

What We Ask From Our Young Members & Families


By joining Whangamatā SLSC, we ask our members and families to:

  • Support a positive, inclusive and encouraging Club environment.
  • Treat coaches, volunteers, members and other families with respect.
  • Follow instructions from coaches and Club volunteers.
  • Put safety first, particularly when participating in the ocean.
  • Keep emergency contact and medical information up to date.
  • Let coaches know about any relevant changes that may affect participation.
  • Look after Club equipment and facilities.
  • Attend sessions regularly where possible and let coaches know if your child cannot attend.
  • Follow the Club Constitution, policies and Code of Conduct.
  • Most importantly, come along, have fun and give things a go!
