🌊 Join Our Junior Surf Coaching Team – 2025/2026 Season 🌊

Whangamatā Surf Lifesaving Club is on the lookout for enthusiastic and committed active lifeguard members to help deliver our Junior Surf & Rookie programs this season.

We’re after people with:

  • ✅ Maturity and enthusiasm – great role models for our next generation of lifeguards and sport athletes
  • ✅ An understanding of basic coaching /teaching principles (experience with kids a bonus). Experience of lifeguard training and surf sport would be highly regarded for co-ordinator roles.
  • ✅ Leadership and planning experience/potential surf related or otherwise) – for those looking at the key co-ordinator roles. It would be expected that the JS Co-ordinator would have some demonstrated competencies in these areas.
  • ✅ A willingness to work as part of a supportive team

Compulsory inductions will be provided so you’ll feel confident and prepared. There is also the potential to attend some SLSNZ coaching training.

*Paid Guard staff wanting to be involved in Junior Surf will be supported to do both where possible.
